Biography
As a musical artist/ producer Kurt is a prolific contributor to the house music industry. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington he grew up in a world encompassed with music. At a young age, he realized a fascination and love for music of all kinds. As a child, R&B, jazz, and disco surrounded him. In the earily 90’s, he was a part of a Hip-Hop DJ Crew that promoted underground events. At this time producers like Pete-Rock, Dj Premier, Dr. Dre, and Ali Shaheed Mahomeed were his main influences. Their music inspired him to learn how to make his own.
His musical talent evolved as his knowledge for midi production/ audio engineering grew. Others recognized his talent and soon started working for Nastymix Records in Seattle. Through this experience he began working with hip-hop icons such as Sir-Mix-A lot, Kid Sensation and Criminal Minded. In 1995, he opened a Recording studio developing local Hip-Hop to R&B artist. Like most struggling artists, Kurt would offer his services as a studio engineer. Through these side projects, he was first introduced to Brent Lawrence (Tilted Records), who opened up his ears and eyes to a new sound and culture called “House music” They collaborated on many different projects including "Time Keep Passing" that was released on Todd Terry's "Freeze" Records in 1995 sung by their belated friend Cla Acox.
In 2000, Kurt relocated to San Francisco, where the abundance of nightlife and talent renewed his inspiration. Currently he is working on various tracks & projects engineering for some of San Francisco's top talent.
