Adrian Libertini

Biography

At the age of 13, Adrian lost a coin toss with his best friend over who would play lead guitar in their band. He got stuck with playing bass.

Call it bad luck, or call it fate from that moment on, the bass was a perfect fit. Music was made. Bands were formed, and friends were made through music. Adrian played the street fairs and local bars of his native Connecticut, getting written up in the local papers and sneaking underage drinks during gigs. After that he had a brief affair with a fusion band, staying up all hours and listening to a lot of "Weather Report" on vinyl.

Since then, Adrian relocated to California, searching out new and interesting music. He noodled around with a jam band in San Diego, then moved toSan Francisco to hook up with his old street fair underaged (now fully legal) band buddies and start again. Their soulfilled jazzy rockin' groove lead them to playing some of the great venues in the area (Great American Music Hall, Last Day Saloon, High Sierra Music Festival). With a quick detour to get his degree in electronic music and recording arts from San Francisco State, start his own home studio and record with a number of local friends and artists, Adrian landed in a little recording studio with the founder of Cellular Records.

Now he is working on blending live instrumentation and innovative recording techniques with the production capabilities of computer sound design. He loves the electronic stuff, but still needs time to play bass, both electric and acoustic, as well as the occasional guitar, banjo, mandolin, churango, harmonica and didjeridoo.
